Salted Salmon Roe
Also known as Ikura
Salted salmon roe, otherwise known as “Ikura” is made from fresh salmon roe. The individual egg is separated from the skein holding them together. Once separated, the eggs are placed in a salt brine solution, dried and packaged into one kilo bentos. Each specie has its own individual flavor characteristics. The most sought after are from chum salmon, considered the best. We also produce ikura from pink, coho, and king. A little goes a long ways and the colorful deep orange eggs add a great visual and flavor profile to your plate.
