Fresh and Frozen Salmon

The following table represents the various species in which processors harvest and specific fishing activity takes place. Although some species are harvested in a very short time period, most species are available year-round in a frozen form.

The five species of Pacific salmon are caught by either hook and line or net (seine or gill net).  Depending on the particular species and the timing of their return, salmon may be harvested from May to November.
